THIS IS A DIGITAL PATTERN, NOT A PHYSICAL PRODUCT. The PDF will be sent to the email associated with your account upon purchase.
The pattern contains step-by-step instructions on how to crochet the hello kitty bag, as well as a graphic to go along with it.
Skill level: Advanced Beginner.
YOU WILL NEED:
• Crochet Hook (4 mm/US 7)
• Yarn: Medium (4) weight
• Scissors and yarn needle
• Optional: stitch marker
ABBREVIATIONS.
To make the bag the following crochet abbreviations are used:
• chain (ch)
• slip stitch (ss)
• single crochet (sc)
• stitches (sts)
• wrong side (ws)
• right side (rs)
DIFFICULTY:
This pattern involves many color changes; I recommend being familiar with color changes before attempting this project. However, in the pattern I have included both the chart to follow as well step-by-step instructions if you have never done tapestry crochet before. If that is not clear enough, there are lots of tutorials online (for color changes) or feel free to message me! For this technique I would recommend floating your yarn from side to side until the very top of your work.
The bag is made in two pieces using turning rounds. The strap has instructions for either one (a shoulder or crossbody) or two (a tote) straps. The two panels of the bag (front and back) as well as the straps are all crochet separately. The final piece is all of the separate parts stitched together with a slip stitch or single crochet and the straps are with a simple mattress stitch.
